Woburn for An Evening to Support Mental Health Awareness. This is a fundraising
event co-sponsored by Keep Sound Minds, Inc. and the Wellstone-Barlow Mental Health
Emmy-award winning journalist and WBZ-TV news anchor, Lisa Hughes, will
emcee the event.
Dr. James Sabin will be our keynote speaker.
Dr. Sabin is a Clinical Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Ambulatory Care/Prevention at Harvard Medical School, the Director of the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Ethics Program, and the co-author of two books on health system ethics. Dr. Sabin’s keynote will discuss the importance of family involvement in the treatment of mental illness, and concurrent problems and ethical issues that may arise when family is involved.
Our featured speakers are
Ken and Danielle Lambert from Keep
Sound Minds and David Wellstone and Kenneth Barlow from the Wellstone-Barlow Mental
Health Initiative. Through discussions of their own personal experiences, our speakers
will talk about the need for greater awareness of mental health issues and greater
access to mental health care, living with a mental health illness/diagnosis (e.g.,
Bipolar Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder), and the power of resiliency and
Danielle Lambert, Co-Founder, Keep Sound Minds: will speak about some of the highlights
of what KSM has done over the past couple of years, and also what our goals are
for the rest of 2013.
The event includes cocktail hour with light hors d’oeuvres and a cash bar from 6:00
PM - 7:00 PM, and the full program to follow from 7:00 pm - 10:30 PM. In addition
to hearing from our esteemed speakers, there will be a full dinner with dessert,
a DJ, and free entry into a door prize raffle.
